ABOUT THE TEACHERS

Irma Torres-Acosta: This is my first year at District 205 as an ELL Specialist.  I am so excited to be a part of the Fischer Family! This is my 10th year of teaching. I received my Masters degree in Bilingual and Bicultural Education from Chicago State University with endorsements in ESL and bilingual education. I have taught in 2nd, 3rd, and 4thgrade. I look forward to working with your child this school year!

Julia Nichols: This is my 6th year as an ELL specialist in District 205, and my 3rd year as part of the wonderful Fischer family. I love teaching students to be successful in their language skills. I graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Spanish and Sociology and received my Masters in Education from UIC. I've taught K, 1st and 4th grades in self-contained bilingual classrooms, as well as teaching Spanish in elementary and middle schools.  I look forward to another great year of guiding your child as a reader, writer, speaker and listener of language.
