Arlin Alicea

Welcome to First Grade!

Bienvenidos a Primer Grado!

I am so excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year at Fischer Elementary. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and also meeting new ones.

Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and i will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this upcoming year. However i cannot do this without the help of you, the parents. We are partners in the learning process.

We have so much fun in First Grade!
Nos divertimos tanto en Primer Grado!

In the picture above the class proudly holds up their Reading Binders. This binder is a tool for reading fluency and comprehension in Spanish.

Pictured here are the Very Hungry First Graders. This year's classroom theme is inspired by Eric Carle's A Very Hungry Caterpillar.

About Mrs. Alicea

My name is Mrs. Alicea and I am one of the First Grade Dual Language teachers at Fischer Elementary. I am excited to begin this Dual Language journey with your children and I believe this quote by the psycholinguist Frank Smith embodies the multilingual advantage in our community.

One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.

I enjoy teaching and I enjoy spending time with my family. Pictured above are my three grandchildren Hector, Moses and Liliana.
