New families can start their registration process by following the New Students Registration Link (Nuevo Enlace de Registro de Estudiantes). You must complete a registration for each student in the household.

As you are registering your returning student, this video will help you navigate the registration process. Returning students to District 205 includes students currently enrolled at Madison Early Childhood Center.

Verifying Residency

For the 2026-2027 school year, parents/guardians of incoming Kindergarteners, 9th graders and parents who require re-verification of residency (i.e. expiring lease before the start of the 2026-27 school year) must present Proof of Residency documents (see details below) to verify their residency. Please bring these documents to the school the student is currently enrolled at. The school collects the residency information from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. each day.

Please use the Residency Cover Sheet to attach to your residency documentation. You can electronically enter student name(s), grade, and attending school in the cover sheet and then print.

Please contact your school secretary for the best time to bring your re-verification of residency documents (e.g. expired or soon to expire lease; special residency situation) through the end of the school year.

Please note:

  • If there are any questions regarding your residency documentation, we will reach out to you.

  • All residency documents must be presented in order to be processed. Partial documentation will not be accepted.

  • Once residency documents are processed, the parent will have access to their parent Powerschool account.

  • The online registration process MUST be completed for each student before the student can start the next school year.

Visit the registration pages of the D205 website for more information on verification of residency, including details regarding the accepted documents.

Elementary Dual Language

During the registration process, you will be asked to indicate if you are interested in participating in the dual language program at Conrad Fischer Elementary.

The Dual Language program at Conrad Fischer Elementary serves as the district’s Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) program, which is required by Illinois state law when a school enrolls more than 20 English Learners who share the same home language. A two-way dual language model is the most effective way to meet this requirement because it supports English Learners in developing strong literacy in both languages while also welcoming English-dominant students into the program. This approach benefits all students academically and socially, while ensuring we fully meet our legal obligation to serve English Learners. Because Conrad Fischer has the student population that meets the state requirement, this program is housed there rather than across all schools in the district.

In two- way dual language classrooms, student composition is 50% Spanish speaking English Language Learner students and 50% English speaking students. Class sizes are kept at 20 students per class to best support students in this bilingual environment. Please note that priority for enrollment in the dual language kindergarten programming is given to kindergarten students who are Spanish-speaking English Learners from within Conrad Fischer Elementary School residency, followed by English-speaking kindergarten students from within Conrad Fischer Elementary School residency.

If additional space is available, spots for the dual language program are then offered to Spanish-speaking English Learner kindergarten students from outside Conrad Fischer Elementary School residency and then offered to English-speaking kindergarten students from outside Conrad Fischer Elementary School residency. A district-wide lottery is conducted for the remaining spots in March and families are notified by mid April if they are granted a spot in the dual language program.

Families outside of the Conrad Fisher boundaries will have the opportunity to enter into a lottery for the Dual-Language program. To be considered for the Dual-Language lottery, you must register by April 1, 2025 and check the box during the registration process that you would like to be in the lottery.

We look forward to welcoming you to District 205 and can’t wait to embark on this journey with you!
